Amanda Knox Can’t Eat Or Sleep Awaiting Appeals Verdict

American student Amanda Knox, jailed for sexually assaulting and murdering her British roommate in Perugia, Italy, cannot eat or sleep while awaiting whether an appeals court in Italy will uphold or overturn her murder conviction. A lower Italian court sentenced her to 26 years behind bars while her boyfriend Raaffaele Sollecito was sentenced to 25 years in jail for the same crime. The couple allegedly committed the murder in 2007 but Knox repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

Amanda Knox Appeal

In the early stages of investigation, Amanda Knox accused Diya “Patrick” Lumumba that he is the murderer of her roommate and he spent about two weeks in jail before the police authorities cleared him of any allegations. According to Lumumba’s attorney, Carlo Pacelli, Knox is a “she-devil” that has a double soul. He told the Italian appeals court “she was an explosive mix of drugs, sex and alcohol” at the time of the crime when Kercher was stabbed to death in their apartment in Perugia.

The 24-year-old Knox and her former boyfriend Sollecito expect to be freed after spending over four years in Italian prison on murder charges. Earlier, prosecutors asked the court to sentence them to life in prison. A verdict by the appeals court is expected next week.
