‘Dancing With the Stars’ Recap: Movie Night

In a night devoted to movies, ‘Dancing With the Stars’ celebrities demonstrated their skills performing to a theme song from a popular movie. The first couple were Chynna Phillips and her partner Tony Dovolani who performed a Pirate Tango to the theme song of “Mission Impossible” with Chynna making some obvious mistakes that forced the judges to give her relatively low score. She scored 21 out of possible 30 for her boring performance.

David Arquette and his partner Kym Johnson performed well their Paso Doble to the theme song from “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” but the judges were not very impressed and gave Arquette 23 out of a possible 30 points.

The next dancing couple were Carson Kressley and professional partner Anna Trebunskaya who danced a Viennese Waltz based on the theme song from “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” Carson saw himself at the bottom of the scoreboard with the judges saying the audience was satisfied when the dance was over. Carson’s score was 20 out of 30.
Nancy Grace has the chance to showcase her aggressive nature dancing a Paso Doble with her professional partner Tristan MacManus. The dance to the theme song from “Flash Gordon” proved to be too great a challenge to her skills, though, and the judges gave her only 21 out of a possible 30 points.

Hope Solo looked like she really enjoyed dancing a Fox Trot with professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, a dance to the theme song from the movie, “Toy Story”. She scored 24 out of 30 points with judges commenting Solo is not devoting enough time to practice her dances.

A Paso Doble to the theme song from the movie “Superman” was performed by Rob Kardashian and professional partner Cheryl Burke. Kardashian managed to score 24 points despite some comments by the judges that he is looking more like a waiter that a bullfighter.

Ricki Lake continued scoring high in ‘Dancing With the Stars’ getting 29 points out of possible 30 for performing a Tango to the theme song from “Psycho,” assisted by professional partner Derek Hough.

Chaz Bono delivered his best dance so far, dancing a Paso Doble to the theme song from the movie “Rocky” with pro partner Lacey Schwimmer. He scored 21 out of 30 points.

Fox Trot to the theme song from the “Pink Panther” was the featured Fox Trot performed by J.R. Martinez and professional partner Karina Smirnoff with Martinez making the most fabulous male performance of the evening, according to the judges. He got 26 out of a possible 30 points from the judges which guaranteed him second place on the leaderboard.
