Rapper Heavy D Dead at 44

Dwight Arrington Meyers, better known as rapper Heavy D, collapsed near his Beverly Hills condo and later passed away at the age of 44. He was on a morning shopping trip, suffered from breathing difficulties and fall unconscious outside his home. Paramedics helped him regain consciousness and transported the singer Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he died, according to a statement by police.

The 1990s rapper’s legacy includes hits like the single “Now That We Found Love,” which topped the charts in the past decade. In his last Twitter message he wrote, “BE INSPIRED” cementing his status as an incorrigible optimist.

On November 1, he urged his Titter followers to do something for someone, believing that such an act can change one’s life forever. “Never stop believing.. Magic is just science we don’t understand.. Every original idea was considered insanity at first,” he added three days later.

Many celebrities expressed their utmost respect for Heavy D and demonstrated their grievance, including Jennifer Lopez, MC Hammer, Diddy, LaToya Jackson, Brandy and Shaquille O’Neal.
