UFC 123 Results: BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes 3

For those of you that did not tune in last night to the fights the UFC 123 results are all over the internet today. The stage was set in Auburn Hills, Michigan, just outside of Detroit for some great MMA. The preliminary fights card saw Nik Lentz defeat Tyson Griffin by a split decision, Paul Kelly defeat T.J O’Brien by TKO in the second round, Edson Barboza defeat Mike Lullo by TKO in the third rounsd, and Dennis Hallman defeat Karo Parisyan by TKO in the first round, Mark Munoz defeated Aaron Simpson by unanimous decision, and the final fight on the under card saw Brian Foster defeat Matt Brown by a guillotine submission. All of  the UFC 123 results for all of the fights during the night led up to the BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes 3 card.

The Palace at Auburn Hills is where the Detroit Pistons of the NBA play their home games. This was the first time since UFC 9 that an event has been hosted in the state of Michigan. The first three fights on the main card saw George Sotiropolous defeat Joe Lauzon with a kimura submission, Phil Davis defeat Tim Boetsch also with a kimura, and Maiquel Falcao defeat Gerald Harris by unanimous decision. The UFC 123 results for the BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes 3 fight saw Penn defeat Hughes by KO in 21 seconds.

The main event of the evening was Rampage Jackson vs. Lyoto Machida. The fight lasted all three rounds and went to the judges for a decision, they came back with a split decision claiming Jackson as the winner. When Bruce Buffer announced the winner,  Rampage was shocked to hear that he had won. There is a lot of  excitement behind the UFC 123 results and the Penn victory in the BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes 3 fight, we will now wait to hear who Dana White will announce to fight in the future.
