The New Jersey State Trooper found dead in his car on a highway exit ramp has been identified as Trooper Scott Graham. He was 35 years old. He is survived by his wife and three young children. Current reports indicate Trooper Graham committed suicide.
A fellow officer passing by Graham’s marked patrol car found him around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, June 16. Graham died of a single gunshot wound. While circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, no suspects are being sought at this time. Graham served as a State Trooper for 10 years prior to his untimely death.
The car was parked on an off ramp on the southbound Garden State Parkway. An earlier report of a vehicle with gunshot holes was called in not long after Graham’s body was discovered, but after investigation the report was found to be unrelated and inaccurate. It has not yet been reported what circumstances may have led Graham to take his own life.
