Philadephia wrestler Trent Acid aka Michael Verdi was found dead June 18 around 9:00 a.m. by his mother. Verdi was only 29. Verdi had a drug use history. He was arrested in the spring of 2010 for possession of heroin.
Acid became a big name independent wrestler during the Combat Zone Wrestling days. He captured the ROH Tag Team Title with partner Johnny Kashmere. Kashmere and Verdi called themselves “The Backseat Boyz.” Kashmere was shocked by the news and said, “I love you, Trent. Rest in peace.”
While Trent did have some successes in life, he had some personal turmoil as well. He was a known drug user and spent time in jail and on probation for drug charges. He once even violated his probation and was jailed again. He had vowed to change his ways, get cleaned up and get back to wrestling, which he loved. But it seems his untimely death came before he got around to it.
