When someone gets over night fame and success it can be pretty crazy. It seems that everyone involved in the Rebecca Black story has started out fighting. The song Friday hit number 38 on Billboard’s digital singles chart this week as well as her mother, Georgina Marquez Kelly have been accusing Ark Music Factory of copyright infringement as well as unlawful exploitation of publicity rights.
Brian Schall who is the lawyer for Rebecca Black sent a letter March 29 and it was obtained by Rolling Stone. The letter alleges that Ark has failed in providing Rebecca with the master recording of her song as well as the video. It also goes on to say that they have been exploiting her likeness as well as her song on YouTube and other platforms.
Patrice Wilson who is the Ark Music Factory founder was interviewed by Rolling Stone and denied most of the allegations in this letter. “I have met with Rebecca Black’s mom and everything is fine,” he said. “She will get the masters and the song. They can have it all.” Poor Rebecca Black can’t seem to get rid of all of the drama in her life.
