Later this year Glenn Beck will end the daily program he has on the Fox News Channel. In a joint statement on Wednesday from Fox and Mr. Beck’s company, Mercury Radio Arts his departure was announced. These two have clashed before over the making of the show “Glenn Beck” but according to reports they say that they will “work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties.” One of the senior Fox New executives, Joel Cheatwood is going to join Mr. Beck at Mercury Radio Arts. This will begin later this month.
The joint statement by Fox and Glenn Beck did not give a specific date when the show “Glenn Beck” was going to be off the air and when asked about it a spokeswoman simply referred back to the previous statement. This show had been telecast at 5 p.m. on Fox News since early in 2009. Mr. Beck is quite popular as he averages 2.2 million viewers each weekday. His ratings have gone down a little bit within the past year however.
His fans love him because he speak out against what he thinks are threats. This could be threats from progressives, socialists and people that he says are “radicals.” His many opponents however can do nothing but condemn him for his apocalyptic predictions and conspiratorial views. Will you be missing Glenn Beck?
