American Idol Results April 7, 2011: Iggy Pop

Last night the remaining singers sang their hearts out trying to get one step closer to becoming the American Idol. The top 9 contestants sang songs form the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The women were styled by singing star Gwen Stefani, while all the contestants were mentored by will.i.am. The American Idol results show featured a performance by rock star Iggy Pop.

The contestants in the bottom 3 this week were Jacob Lusk, Pia Toscano, and Stefano Langone. Both the contestants and judges were surprised by who ended up in the bottom 3. After Jacob was announced safe this week it was down to Pia and Stefano. The American Idol results for April 7th saw Pia Toscano sent home.

Before the elimination took place we were treated to a performance by Iggy Pop. In what seemed to be an odd choice for American Idol, Pop is in the Hall of Fame which was this weeks theme. At almost 64 years old he sang his hit “Real Wild Child” on the Idol stage. The Iggy Pop performance made this weeks American Idol results show a little different than those in the past few weeks.

Watching Iggy Pop perform was painful to say the least. I honestly thought the guy was going to have heart failure during the middle of his song. Watching a shirtless old guy try to act like a 23 year old was pathetic and un-necessary. Time to grow up Iggy, because, seriously, you have grown old.

How stupid is America and there votes on the results show tonight? It could not have been her voice…she is on the way to being another Celine. It had to be a bunch of bitchy teen fashion police. I adore Gwen Steffani but what the heck were they thinking. Poor Pia had no waist and was all butt.
Bad choice all around for poor Pia.
