Adam Scott: One Of The First Aussies To Win The Masters?

After watching everyone else around the course making moves up the leaderboard the Aussies decided to do something. Tiger Woods, K.J. Choi and Angel Gabrera were making great strides all afternoon but the end score is what counts. The Australians Adam Scott and Jason Day were paired together on the final round of the Masters. These two have been “mates” for quite a few years.

“It was awesome playing with Jason,” Scott said. “Incredible. He was a little shaky early on but really held his nerve, and to finish birdie to give himself a chance at the time was huge. Can’t say enough about Jason. He’s a really mature golfer for his age.”“I’ve known Adam since I was 15, so we’ve been good mates since then and we just had a lot of fun today,” said Day, 23. “It was really, really good to be in the hunt for the Masters, and obviously to be one of the first Aussies to win the Masters was special, too.”

These two Australian blokes almost took the Masters to a good old-fashioned playoff but the South African Charl Schwartzel birdied the last four holes. This meant that he snatched away the green jacket. Sadly Adam Scott would not be one of the first Australians to win the Masters. I am sure that 2nd place wasn’t too bad however.
