Gabrielle Giffords: Attending Husband’s Shuttle Launch

Gabrielle Giffords, the wounded Arizona Congresswoman is going to be at the launch of the space shuttle Endeavor. She will be able to be there to support her husband Mark Kelly. This is only months after being shot in the head according to news reports. She is lucky to be alive.

He said Gabrielle Giffords has been cleared by her doctors to attend the launch Friday April 29. “I met with her doctors and neurosurgeon, and they’ve given us permission to take her down to the launch,” Kelly told Couric. “We’re excited about that.”

Endeavor is to launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral Florida at 3:47 p.m. on Friday. If you want to enjoy the launch to its fullest you can watch about six miles away at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Sources say at a cost of $60 million the Space Shuttle Launch Experience provides a one way trip to the stars. Gabrielle Giffords, I am sure will be getting the star treatment.
