With the big day almost upon us let’s take a look back at how Wills and Kate made it to this special day known as the Royal Wedding. The two met back in 2001 when they were flatmates while attending the University of St. Andrews. In 2003 the 2 started to date and after a break up and subsequent reuniting back in 2007 Prince William and Kate Middleton became engaged in 2010. The wedding of these lovebirds will take this Friday April 29th in what is sure to be the wedding of the year.
The guest list for this lavish event is enormous with celebrities, religious figures, foreign royals and political notables all among Wills and Kate’s family and friends. The broadcasting of the Royal Wedding will begin early in the morning for us over here in North America, with the ceremony set to begin at 6:00 am EST. There will be a luncheon following the ceremony at Buckingham Palace and then a reception at night also at Buckingham Palace. There will be dinner and dancing, however it has been reported that no beer will be served at the Royal Wedding.
The Royal Family and Kate Middleton’s family will be covering the cost of the event, while the cost of security and transportation to be covered by the British Treasury. The wedding day, April 29th, has been declared a public holiday for those in the United Kingdom. Prince William and Kate Middleton have asked that in lieu of wedding gifts a charitable donation is made. Tune in Friday to see the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton take place, and for all of the other Royal Wedding coverage.
