US Open Leaderboard: Rory McIlroy Leads the U.S. Open Second Round

 

Golf fans everywhere are keeping a close watch on the 2011 US Open leaderboard as the second round is underway Friday, June 17. As of 10: 33 AM ET Rory McIlroy has a comfortable lead at -10 thru 9 holes and is currently -4 on the day. The U.S.A. player Zach Johnson is also tearing up the course Friday as he sits -4 thru 8 holes. There are currently two golfers tied for 3rd with Robert Garrigus at -3 after 10 holes and Y.E. Yang also at -3 although he will not tee of until 1:35 PM ET.

The 2011 U.S. Open results also have Sergio Garcia at -2 thru 9 holes Friday and Charl Schwartzel also at -2 thru 8 holes. Rounding out the top 5 are Louis Oosthuizen who tees off at 1:35 PM ET today and American Ryan Palmer who has a tee off time of 2:19 PM ET.

There are currently 10 golfers tied for 9th place at -1 with 6 of those golfers teeing off this afternoon. Kyung-tae Kim who started the second round -2 is now part of the 10 golfers tied for 9th place at -1 thru 11 holes. Some notable golfers are of course Phil Mickelson who is back to Even after going -3 thru 10 holes this morning. Fellow American Stewart Cink is -1 and will not tee off until 1:24 PM ET. Lee Westwood is sitting at +4 after day one and he tee’s off Friday at 1:46 PM ET.

The US Open Leaderboard will surely change by the end of the second round although it is Rory McIlroy’s tournament to lose with a huge 6 stroke lead after 10 holes Friday. Check back for the latest U.S. Open leaderboard updates and the results from the second round come in later today.
