US Open Leaderboard: Rory McIlroy Leads the U.S. Open Third Round

Golf fans everywhere are still looking for the latest U.S. Open leaderboard updates as Rory McIlroy still leads the way after shooting 66 in the second round. McIlroy will tee off at 3:50 PM ET along with Y.E. Yang who sits at -5 after two rounds at the 2011 U.S. Open. There are currently 5 golfers tied for 3rd at the US Open including four Americans Matt Kuchar, Brandt Snedeker, Zach Johnson and Robert Garrigus who sit at -2 along with Sergio Garcia after round two. All of these golfers who are tied for 3rd will tee of shortly after 3:20 PM ET Saturday, June 18.

US Open Leaderboard 2011

The US Open leaderboard remains tight with 7 golfers at -1 thru two rounds at the Congressional Country Club. Fan favorite Phil Mickelson sits at +1 heading into the 3rd round at the 2011 U.S. Open. Mickelson will tee off at 1:40 PM ET and many golf fans will be watching for him to continue to move up the U.S. Open third round leaderboard after he shot a 69 in the second round Friday. Mickelson will be paired up with fellow American Kevin Chappell for the third round at the US Open.

Many respectable golfers did not make the 3rd round cut at the 2011 US Open including Stewart Cink, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Hunter Mahan, Ernie Els, Ian Poulter and K.J. Choi. Most golf fans know anything can happen and the U.S. Open leaderboard will surely change before the 4th and final round Sunday. Rory McIlroy knows this best after blowing up at the Masters but the 6 stroke lead over Y.E. Yang has to give hime confidence when looking at the third round leaderboard.
