With the NBA Finals finally over and Dallas taking home the prize, brings the 2011 NBA draft. So far there has not been too much excitement regarding the NBA Draft results for 2011 although things have been a little bit up in the air. Like BYU star player Jimmer Fredette being drafted 10th overall despite being the player of the year. There is however a twist since he will now play for the Sacramento Kings despite being drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks. This twist in the 2011 NBA Draft results is because of a 3 way deal between the Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings and Charlotte Bobcats.
In other NBA draft news for the results saw the #1 pick go to the Cleveland Cavaliers who selected Kyrie Irving.. Kyrie Irving is of course not any relation to Michael Irving who played football for the Dallas Cowboys. Instead he is Drederick Irving’s son from Australia who also played professional basketball but in Australia for the Bulleen Boomers. The 2nd pick in the 2011 NBA draft was taken by the Minnesota Timberwolves who took Arizona college basketball star Derrick Williams.
It is said that Derrick Williams could possibly be the most ready college player in the NBA draft 2011 to star next season so look for him on the hard-court next fall. The third overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft was Enes Kanter who was taken from the Kentucky Wildcats by the Utah Jazz. Arguably Canada’s top basketball player who was also the Texas Longhorns top player, Tristan Thompson, was taken 4th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Many handicapping experts would say that Cleveland has had a great NBA draft for 2011 and I’m sure NBA Finals loser Lebron James would agree. What do you think about the NBA Draft for 2011?
