For years is seemed that Missy Elliot was on her game and was putting out hit after hit. The rapper/producer was releasing hit after hit and music video after music video in the 1990s and the early 2000s. After this there were a couple of other efforts in the mid 2000s that did not go so well and Missy seemed to fall off the radar.
Missy Elliot has revealed that she has been struggling with Graves’ disease for the past 3 years. The 39-year-old Grammy winner told people magazine that she has really been having to battle the autoimmune disease. “You live with it for the rest of your life,” Elliott said.
The diagnosis came to Missy Elliot in 2008. She has been suffering from many effects that have affected her in her day to day life. Some of the things she has had to deal with are loss of some motor skills, throat lumps, mood swings and hair loss. Graves’ disease currently has no cure but can be managed when caught early on, as in the case of Missy Elliot.
