Wimbledon 2011 Results: Ladies Quarterfinal Action

Today from the All England Lawn Tennis Club Wimbledon 2011 continues with the ladies singles quarterfinals. The ladies field was narrowed down to 8 players after yesterdays games. There were some surprises yesterday with the loss of both of the Williams sisters and number 1 seed Caroline Wozniacki. The Wimbledon 2011 results for today will leave us with 4 ladies, who will play in the semi-finals on Thursday.

With the loss of the number 1 seed Caroline Wozniacki this opens the tournament to any of the women remaining. The loss by Wozniacki continues her streak of Grand Slam losses.The top seeded player currently left at Wimbledon 2011 is number 4 seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus. Russian Maria Sharapova, who is one of the favorites to win, is seeded 5th and she will hit the court today at 1:00 pm GMT against Dominika Cibulkova.

The men will have the day off today, with their quarterfinals being played on Wednesday. In today’s action we will also see doubles, girls and boys games being played.
