Tylenol Recall: Latest Information

Today, another recall notice was issued by Johnson & Johnson about its Tylenol products. They had received reports of a musty odor. This recall was for 60,912 bottles of its Tylenol Extra Strength pain relief medicine.

According to Boston.com the smell is most likely due to trace amounts of 2,4,6-tribromoanisole (TBA). If you are exposed to this chemical it doesn’t seem to cause any health risks but it may cause your stomach to be upset.

One lot (ABA619) of Tylenol pain killers which were made in February 2009 is what is affected under this recall. Look for “Tylenol Extra Strength Caplets, 225 count” and a UPC code of 300450444271. If you find this it is part of the Tylenol recall and should not be consumed.

Consumers with the recalled Tylenol products are advised to stop taking the pain reliever and to contact McNeil Consumer Healthcare (888-222-6036, www.tylenol.com) for instructions about receiving a refund or product coupon.

Celebrities have done their part to help spread the news via social media. Celebs like Brooke Burke and Alyssa Milano tweeted on twitter about the recall and the news spread very quickly.
