Wednesday morning, Oprah Winfrey named herself the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Creative Officer of her network OWN. Oprah started her OWN network in partnership with Discovery Communications back in January. Since the network’s inception in 2008, it has seen three CEOs come and go. Christina Norman left the position during a shake-up of the management, the last CEO to leave the network.
Oprah also brought with her Erik Logan and Sheri Salata, currently presidents of Winfrey’s production company, Harpo Studios. They will both become presidents of OWN. This completes the plan for OWN to move forward with a creative team that can monitor the development of creative strategies for the network.
Spending millions of dollars on programming and promotion, Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network ratings were not good. The network has struggled since January. They needed the right team that could bring their creativity to the forefront and now that Oprah is totally focused on her OWN network success, it will not be long before ratings start to soar.
You can check with your local television or satellite provider to find out what station the OWN network is all.
