British Open Leaderboard: Day 2 at The Open

The British Open in now in day two of action from the Royal St. Georges Golf Club in Kent, England. Yesterday saw the opening round of the tournament take place with some surprise namesĀ  starting off strong. Currently a top the British Open Leaderboard are five golfers at -4. They are Darren Clarke, Lucas Glover, Thomas Bjorn, Simon Dyson, and Miguel A. Jimenez. These standings will be changing throughout the day as more golfers tee off.

155 golfers are competing to make the cut that will take place after today. The golfers with the lowest 70 scores and ties will get to play another day. Masters Champion Charl Schwartzel, of South Africa, is currently in a tie for 6th spot at -3. Rory McIlroy, who tees off at 9:10 ET, is at +1 and tied for 43rd. Look for there to be a lot of action on the British Open Leaderboard today.

The Royal St. Goerges is known for its deep bunkers and hilly terrain. This is not the type of course most golfers are used to, and it is proving to be a difficult tournament for many thus far. We will have to wait and see whose name is a top the British Open Leaderboard at the end of the day, and also to see which golfers will get the chance to play in the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday.
