2011 British Open Leaderboard Round 2: Tom Watson Hole In One

The 2nd round today at the British Open 2011 in Kent England drops yesterday’s leader Thomas Bjorn, Denmark,to third place at the moment, but he is just getting started. Darren Clarke,from Northern Ireland is placing first on the leaderboard after 18 holes, with five birdies, and a final score today of -4.

After completing 18 holes today, tied for first place on the leaderboard is Lucas Glover from the U.S., with 2 birdies today and posting a score of -4. He was the winner of the Wells Fargo Championship this year. On the sixth hole, at a distance of 178 yards, Tom Watson, U.S., received a standing ovation from the fans with one bounce and a hole-in-one. He took a bow and the crowd loved it. He ended the 2nd round with a +2, marking down 3 birdies today.

How was Phil Mickelson’s second round? With two more birdies today,his round went down a notch from yesterday, when he ended the day with a -1. Phil is still a good contender and if he can add more birdies to his score tomorrow and Sunday, he may come from behind to win the British Open 2011 at the Royal St. George’s Golf Club. Rory McIlroy, the U.S.Open Champion has just started his day, the crowd will be following him closely.
