British Open Leaderboard: Darren Clarke Leads after Day 3 at The Open

Day 3 at the 2011 British Open has come to a close with Darren Clarke leading the way at -5 under. Clarke shot -1 under at the British Open during the 3rd round. American golfer, Dustin Johnson, had a big day Saturday shooting -2 under despite bad weather conditions. Johnson now sits in second place at -4 on the British Open leaderboard just 1 stroke back of Clarke.

Dustin Johnson was a long shot according to the oddsmakers coming into the 140th Open in Sandwich, England. Johnson is in great shape heading into the 4th and final round Sunday. Fellow American Rickie Fowler also shot -2 under Saturday to move him into 3rd on the 2011 British Open leaderboard.

Saturday was a very tough day for all of the golfers at the 2011 British Open and the results show just that with only three golfers shooting under par for the round. Thomas Bjorn was 1 over par for the 3rd round and now sits tied for 3rd with Rickie Fowler. Miguel A. Jimenez had difficulty Saturday shooting +2 over par for the round which sent him into a tie for 5th place with Lucas Glover who shot +3 over par. There are a total of 6 golfers tied for 7th place at Even on the British Open leaderboard including Phil Mickelson who shot +1 over par to conclude his 3rd round at the Open.
