NFL Lockout Over: Football is Back

Good news has come today from the NFL as owners and players have reached a contract resolution. The news fans have been waiting to hear can now be said, the NFL lockout is over. The players voted to approve the deal today, that the owners had approved last week.

With the signing of the new collective bargaining agreement the 4 1/2 month NFL lockout is over. Commissioner Robert Goodell said “this is a long time coming, and football is back and that’s great news for everybody”. And it is great news for everybody, not only players and owners, but fans and stadium employees. It is great news for sports in general having the NFL lockout over.

The players should be hitting the fields in this week to start training camp. The preseason games are set to start on Sunday August 7th with the Hall of Fame Game featuring the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Rams. The official week one of the preseason will begin August 11th and run for four weeks. The regular season will commence on Thursday September, 8th with the New Orleans Saints heading to Green Bay to take on the Packers. With the NFL lockout over we can now say-are you ready for some football?
