Steele and Dufner topped the PGA Championship leaderboard 2011 after well-know golfers underperformed during the first days of the competition. Dufner managed to score birdies on the 15th and 16th holes, and scored 2-under at the final four holes. Steele achieved 7-under in the tournament so far, scoring impressive seven birdies overall.

Steele is a PGA Tour rookie and has never won a major title. In his 12 starts, he managed to won the Texas Open in April, 2011. Michael Bradley is another American in the top five who is playing in one of golf’s four Grand Slams for first time in his career. In 2003, golf fans witnessed for last time a newcomer to grab the title at a major tournament, following Ben Curtis’s win at the British Open.

David Toms, Charl Schwartzel and Jim Furyk are the only ones with a real chance to grab the title at Atlanta Athletic Club who have won a major title in their career. For his part, Tiger Woods missed the cut for first time in a major since the 1996 Masters Tournament.
