2011 MTV VMA’s Recap

The greatest winner of MTV’s Video Music Awards on August 28, 2011 was female singer Beyonce who revealed she is pregnant on the red carpet before performing her song “Love On Top.” Besides, Katy Perry won three awards: home video of the year for “Firework”, best collaboration for “E.T.” featuring Kanye West, and the special effects award also for “E.T.” She revealed she feels like doing something right when performing the song that won her the award, wearing a cube-shaped hat at the stage.

Pop star Lady Gaga managed to get two awards after opening the VMAs with her song “You and I.” Later, she received awards for best female video and best message video. Her song “Born This Way” bears the best message, according to MTV experts. She told guests and viewers she is feeling like a blessed person on the stage of MTV’s VMA, adding that no individual can select his sexuality; this is the way he or she is born.

The best male video award went to Justin Beber for his song “U Smile,” while Foo Fighters won the best rock video award. The MTV moonman for best new artist was grabbed by Tyler, The Creator with the song “Yonkers.”

Best hip-hop video moonman was for Nicki Minaj for her “Super Bass,” and British female singer Adele managed to win only minor awards for art direction, cinematography, and editing for “Roling in the Deep” single from her hit album “21.” A tribute to Amy Winehouse brought together pop singer Bruno Mars and soul performer Tony Bennett, who admitted Amy had the whole gift and talent to be a tremendous singer.

Britney Spears was honored for best pop video with her video clip “Till the World Ends.” Overall the 2011 MTV VMA’s was a huge success.
