Gaddafi Reportedly Trapped, Surrounded

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has been surrounded by rebel forces and cannot escape siege after his whereabouts have been tracked using ground intelligence and high technology means. According to Anis Sharif, a spokesman for Tripoli’s new military council, the rebel forces have trapped former Libyan state leader and rebel field commanders hope he will be captured soon or later.

Gaddafi Trapped

Gaddafi is constantly on the run, using a convoy of some 10 vehicles and sleeping in a tent as he used to sleep even when he was head of state. Colonel Gaddafi fears entering and staying in houses thus his escort is making a tent every time he needs to take a rest, sources close to the revels said.

It was rumored that Gaddafi might have managed to escape his hunters using one of the convoys of Gaddafi loyalists that entered Niger through the Sahara desert. One of these convoys was headed by Gaddafi’s security chief but the former Libyan leader was not among those who has left the battlefield in Libya, sources said.

Leon Panetta, the US defence secretary, confirmed the news that Muammar Gaddafi is not located in Niger and is still in Libya while Gaddafi’s spokesman Moussa Ibrahim said his boss is in very high morale and has not left the country. Earlier, the former Libyan head of state urged his followers to continue fighting and resists rebels’ armed march across Libya.
